Forming Technician - Willing to Train

About the role

The Foreman position at Bodycote, a leading thermal processing services provider, is located in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role involves performing essential job functions related to heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager, ensuring customer specifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Handle hot parts up to 1600°F while performing forming operations.
• Checks and records straightness, flatness, angles or dimensional records as required by work orders.
• Performs routine mechanical forming with hydraulic presses and tooling.
• Prepares material for operation.
• Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices.
• Ensures the care and treatment of customer inventory.
• Works safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Communicates effectively and follows directions.
• Accepts constructive criticism and performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of forklift experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with cranes/hoists.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of heat treating, testing, commercial/aircraft/aerospace materials.
• Ability to read taper gauges, thickness gauges, and calipers.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for data entry.
• Obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
• Physical demands: bending, pulling, stooping, climbing, twisting, reaching, lifting up to 35 lbs.
• Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is $22.00-$26.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay. Additional compensation, including shift differential, is available. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA options, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program. The sign-on retention bonus is $1,500. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. Hours for this role are 1st shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm.
