Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures that all equipment is set up properly and on time to allow for a punctual production start-up.
- This includes the availability of meat and meat mixtures where required.
- Reviews recipes and deviations on a daily basis.
- Ensures that the required paperwork is complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Provides oven operator with accurate raw weights at designated intervals.
- Ensures machine is not causing overlapped patties, but is keeping belt full.
- Watches for and separates overlapping patties.
- Maintains focus on reducing meat spillage and scrap throughout the operation.
- Fills out scrap and WIP tickets at the end of each shift.
- Ensures that all meat and meat mixtures are properly covered and labeled at all times.
- Removes all condensation from walls, equipment, doors and ceilings when necessary throughout shift.
- Obtains and calibrates scales when needed.
- Ensures that proper weight control is maintained.
- Operates equipment only if Code 10-quality product is being produced.
- Asks Team Leader or QA if unsure whether product is code-10.
- Ensures that area is checked on an hourly basis for condensation.
- Ensures that all floors are kept clean at all times and are free of grease, trash, and meat particles.
- Ensures that all meat is used in order, with the oldest grinding day codes and lowest batch numbers used first.
- Pulls E-cord immediately and moves the patties from the conveyor belt before restarting the belt if too many patties are overlapping.
- Shovels product off the floor when necessary.
- Never leaves work area while equipment is in operation.
- Efficient operations of the former, mondo, reitz mixer, inspect and infeed positions.
- Models the Springville Compass in all work-related activities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
Position Qualifications
- Repeat heavy lifting - bending, pushing, pulling, etc.
- Basic computer data entry is required.
- Work overtime as needed.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
- 90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestle factory preferred.
