Form Carpenter Helper II

The Form Carpenter Helper II is responsible for performing various tasks including erecting and setting forms for vertical and horizontal concrete structures and site work, adhering to specifications and drawings. Essential functions include:

• Reading and interpreting measuring tools such as tape measure, speed square, framing square, etc.
• Fully understanding plant north and drawing coordinates
• Aiding in setting and positioning forms to proper elevations and locations, preparing the base, and installing proper reinforcing
• Assisting in marking, cutting, and assembling materials, shaping them to prescribed measurements, and assembling, fastening with nails, dowel pins, or glue
• Assisting in general carpentry tasks such as building and installing barricades, decks, shelves, and other miscellaneous site needs
• Able to assist in placing and tying rebar
• Achieving set standards of accuracy
• Performing duties in a safe manner

Qualifications

Physical demands include working up to a 12-hour shift, performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions, maintaining physical strength and stamina, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crawling, climbing, and working at heights. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required. Visual and auditory skills are necessary, as well as coordination between eyes, hands, and feet. Education and work experience requirements include 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a carpenter helper role. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations, active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors, following all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal guidelines regarding health and safety, practicing and maintaining good "House Keeping" by cleaning up work area and jobsite after each task, and ability to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights.

Hours

This position is a Full-Time role scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements. Travel required up to 90% with intermittent travel to the residence of record.
