Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in warehouse or production areas (e.g., hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard-toe/slip-resistant shoes, safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
  • Follow food quality and safety guidelines per Refresco, customer, and/or governing body (e.g., SQF) standards.
  • Load and unload raw materials from incoming trucks and transport them to designated areas.
  • Validate quantities using Blind Count Sheets or SAP transactions via forklift-mounted Vehicle Mounted Units (VMUs).
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PITs) in a high-paced environment; maintain in-house forklift certification.
  • Supply raw materials to production lines as required.
  • Perform pre-trip forklift inspections and adhere to battery/propane tank changing safety procedures.
  • Clean and maintain work areas throughout the shift.
  • Represent the company positively at all times.
  • May include production machine operation duties.
  • Perform other driving or warehouse activities as directed by leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Certification or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Forklift certification by an approved Refresco trainer.
  • Ability to read and write job instructions in the specified language(s) for the location.
  • Basic computer skills for operating production software, logging data, and using SAP via VMUs.
  • Demonstrated operation of powered industrial trucks.

  • Cognitive: Ability to analyze data and process parameters to optimize production.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Participation in safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise equipment control.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and holidays may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Environment: Fast-paced production plant with moving parts; noise levels require hearing protection. Temperatures may vary (hot/cold).
  • Travel: 0% anticipated.

Physical Requirements

The role involves the following physical demands:

  • Standing or Sitting: Frequently (46-100%)
  • Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, or Crawling: Occasionally (16-45%)
  • Lifting: Up to 50 lbs (minimum 5 lbs); frequent carrying and lifting.
  • Walking: Frequently (46-100%)
  • Driving (Forklift): Frequently (46-100%)
  • Climbing (Stairs/Ladders) or Balancing: Rarely (0-15%)
  • Visual/Sensory: Moderate attention required with one or two senses at a time.
  • Mental Stress: Pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands.
