Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform pre-shift forklift inspections on forklift.
- Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed.
- Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored.
- Visually inspect material for quality defects; segregate defective product and notify supervisor.
- Fill dumpsters from production floor; housekeeping of plant (inside and out).
- Work as a team with production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
- Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep it organized.
- Assists forklift operator II as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
- Prior experience operating a propane sit-down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
- Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
- Able to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
- Able to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
- Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
- Able to learn and operate new equipment.
Education And Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Working Conditions
- Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust.
- Working with mechanical parts and pinch points.
- Exposure to increased noise levels.
Hours Worked
- 8-10 hours/shift, varies on shift schedule and business volume.
- Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.

- FREQUENTLY: LIFTING OR CARRYING 21-40 LBS, 41-50 LBS
- CONTINUOUSLY: LIFTING OR CARRYING 51 OR MORE LBS
- PUSHING OR PULLING 1-40 LBS, 51 OR MORE LBS
- BENDING OR STOOPING, REACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL
- DRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP. VEHICLES, OPERATE MACHINERY OR POWER TOOLS, CLIMBING (LADDERS, STAIRS, ETC.), WALKING, STANDING, SITTING
- WORKING IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES, REPETITIVE MOTION INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: WRISTS, HANDS AND/OR FINGERS
- VISION, HEARING, DEXTERITY, HAND EYE COORDINATION
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used: Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor. Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) Hi-Vis Vests Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
