Forklift Operator PT
About the role
R+L Carriers has an immediate need for Part-time Forklift Operator at our Salem, VA service center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be tasked with moving all different types of freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53' long. You will be operating a forklift on a roofed but non-climate-controlled dock.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety standards and follow all company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of all movements and loads handled
- Operate forklift safely and efficiently to move freight
- Read and interpret manifests and interact with computer displays
- Work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Able to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to read and interact with a computer display
- Forklift experience
- Dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Previous forklift experience in a fast-paced environment
- Some LTL experience preferred
Qualifications
Must be able to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty. Must have the ability to read manifests and interact with a computer display. Forklift experience is required, and previous forklift experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred. Some LTL experience is also preferred.

Pay
$21.49 per hour
Schedule
2nd Shift, Monday – Friday, 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
