About the role
The Forklift Operator will safely and efficiently operate a forklift to transport product within the warehouse. This position also performs receiving and/or shipping functions as assigned and assists with daily cycle count and yearly physical inventory processes.
Responsibilities
- Record product transfers within the warehouse and provide real-time updates to the Oracle inventory management system using the radio frequency bar coding system. If the system is unavailable, accurately record products transferred on a Move Ticket and return it to the Warehouse Supervisor for immediate update.
- Operate forklifts safely to prevent damage to product, pallet racks, trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment while loading/unloading trucks, transferring, and storing products.
- Process all inbound and/or outbound shipments in a timely manner in accordance with applicable SOPs.
- Perform daily forklift inspections, document findings on the daily checklist, and report any equipment problems to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.
- Perform cycle count and physical inventory processes according to set counting schedules. Accurately record counts and report any variances found.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, monitoring for any safety issues. Notify the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or Security immediately of any unsafe working conditions or practices.
- Immediately report any accidents witnessed or involved in to the Warehouse Supervisor, management staff, or Security.
- Perform other functions and duties as assigned or necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of forklift operator and general warehousing experience.
- Experience with warehousing operations related to product movement, inventory systems, and forklift operations.
- Experience with radio frequency bar code scanners.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English with good oral communication skills.
- Ability to function as an effective team member and work well in a moderately stressful environment.
- Ability to respond effectively and positively in a rapidly changing warehouse environment.
- Clean, neat, organized, and alert demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience in general warehousing.
