Forklift operator FT
About the role
R+L Carriers has an immediate need for Full-time Forklift Operators at our New Orleans, LA service center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be tasked with moving all different types of freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53' long. You will be operating a forklift on a roofed but non-climate-controlled dock.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety standards and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Operate a forklift to move freight safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret manifests and interact with a computer display.
- Bend, lift, stoop, and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be dependable.
Requirements
- Must be able to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
- Ability to read manifests and interact with a computer display.
- Forklift experience, including previous experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Some LTL experience.
- Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to read and understand manifests.
- Must have the ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Physical strength and endurance.
- Attention to detail.
- Computer literacy.
- Safe driving skills.
