Forklift Operator - First Shift

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently move, stage, sort, and position freight within docks, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Assist with loading/unloading, label and scan freight, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Identify damaged freight and report safety or equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support operational goals, mentor new team members, and sometimes lead task prioritization.
• Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklifts and conveyors.
• Assist with dock coordination, workflow management, and problem-solving.
• Perform tasks under supervision while learning safety protocols and equipment use.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Ability to recognize labels, barcodes, perform basic math, and operate technology.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs, stand, walk, and work in a noisy, temperature-variable environment.
