Forklift Operator - D Crew

Safety Position must operate their Powered Industrial Forklift while moving a large volume of wood; the warning light and back-up alarm must be checked to ensure they are operational. PPE—earplugs, safety glasses, and area-appropriate gloves—must be worn. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Schedule

• D Crew 12-hour shift: 7pm–7am (rotating)

Pay

• $22.23–$24.56 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential

Responsibilities

• Operate Powered Industrial Forklift in a safe manner, paying attention to surroundings
• Ensure proper material is sent to the mill for orders
• Load proper material on trucks for customers and mill
• Rotate to different job duties, including machine operation, material handling, grading, quality checks, and clean-up
• Follow written and verbal job instructions
• Provide feedback and apply critical thinking

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum computer skills (ERP System)
• Powered Industrial Forklift license or license course
• Industrial forklift/truck license
• Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work with considerable ingenuity
• Ability to work with lightweight materials and occasionally average-weight materials
• Strong mental and visual concentration for planning and laying out work
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, forklift traffic, machine noise, and varying conditions
• Use of personal safety equipment
