Forklift Operator - Boise
About the role
This position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to the wood products yard/warehouse. The starting wage is $20.30 per hour and this is a full-time, first shift position, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
- Safely load and unload products from various trailers.
- Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices.
- Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
- Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
- Be highly attentive and adaptive to workflows.
- Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A positive willing to learn attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work outside in the elements five days a week and on rare occasions Saturdays, depending on business needs.
- Have excellent attendance.
- Ability to work on a computer.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work safely without injury to self or others.
- Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to learn product identification, sizes, and handling characteristics.
- Forklift Operator experience preferred.
Qualifications
This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55- 65% of the time.
