Forklift Operator

About the role

Adhere to all safety and housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting. Use a forklift to load or unload finished product and raw materials to and from trucks and railcars, and from the production line. Interpret customer orders to pull, stage, load, and verify materials so shipments are accurate and timely. Record shipping data and other results as required. Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment. Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision. Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, overtime, and weekend assignments where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to inspect and troubleshoot forklifts to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
• Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
• Ability to apply basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
• Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills with all co-workers.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Pay

Hourly pay is $22.38. Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
