Forklift Operator

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety and housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
• Operate a forklift to load or unload finished product and raw materials to/from trucks/railcars and the production line in a timely manner.
• Interpret customer orders to pull, stage, load, and check materials, ensuring accurate and timely shipment.
• Record shipping data and other required results.
• Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to service equipment.
• Actively participate in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by supervision.
• Adapt to scheduling requirements, including shift work, overtime, weekends, and other applicable assignments.

Requirements

• Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to inspect and troubleshoot forklifts to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
• Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Proficiency in accurately recording shipping data.
• Basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills with all co-workers.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
