About the role

Adhere to all safety and housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting. Use a forklift to load or unload finished product and raw materials to and from trucks and railcars, and from the production line. Interpret customer orders to pull, stage, load, and verify materials to ensure accurate and timely shipment. Record shipping data and other results as required. Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to service equipment. Take an active role in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by supervision. Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, overtime assignments, and weekend work where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Load or unload finished product and raw materials to/from trucks, railcars, and production lines in a timely manner.
  • Interpret customer orders to pull, stage, load, and verify materials for accurate and timely shipment.
  • Record shipping data and other required results accurately.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance to maximize operational availability.
  • Participate in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Adapt to rotating schedules, overtime assignments, and weekend work as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot forklifts to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
  • Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to accurately record shipping data.
  • Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills with all co-workers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Schedule

Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.), rotating weekly.

Pay

Hourly pay: $27.00. Rate may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience.
