Position Summary
The Forklift Operator performs general warehouse duties and operates forklifts to support smooth, safe, and efficient warehouse operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Safely operates a variety of lift trucks, including clamp trucks and cherry pickers, to transport goods within the warehouse.
- Loads and unloads products from trailers, containers, or shelves, using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Conducts order picking and shipping and receiving tasks as needed; use scanner guns and print labels for proper identification of incoming and outgoing products.
- Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required.
- Maintains a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
- Maintains all GMP, SQF, and safety requirements; participate in food and safety meetings.
- Assists all other departments as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience as a forklift driver.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift License or ability to get within amount of time.
- General computer skills: data entry and search features to locate inventory and/or storage location.
- This is a regular, full-time position with assigned shift located onsite.
- The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
- The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, confined spaces, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 50 pounds many times per day.
