Forklift Operator
About the role
Forklift drivers are responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, or trucks. This role includes coverage for absences and requires flexibility to work across shifts with three weeks' notice.
Primary schedule: Monday–Friday, 2nd shift (3:15 pm–11:30 pm). Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts as well as weekend AM and PM shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move products within the warehouse while adhering to all safety rules and safety management standards.
- Handle the movement of pallets on and off trailers and other vehicles using site equipment including pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Adhere to daily production schedule and prioritize job duties to ensure assignments are completed.
- Consult and coordinate with manager, team lead, etc., regarding loading and unloading operations.
- Create/print LPs, change shrink wrap/corrugate items, remove completed FNG/Ingredient items from wrapper, and wrap, stack, and load all ingredient items without damage.
- Adhere to quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting damaged product and shortages.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sit-down forklift operation; Slipsheet experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing tasks.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision.
- Must be able to interpret and input performance data to improve processes.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
