About the role
The Forklift Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently completing the defined order fulfillment process, which includes material handling, equipment operation, transportation, selection, identification, verification, packaging, labeling, and shipping of required products.
Responsibilities
- Transports, selects, identifies, verifies, packages, labels, and places product(s) into shipping containers and/or ships (loads) product(s) as required.
- Details actual tasks vs. expected tasks through the comparison of picking and/or packing lists to customer documents.
- Recounts product before shipment to ensure accuracy.
- Limits product(s) meet(s) all requirements before packing and shipping.
- Handles all products according to customer and employer procedures.
- Communicates effectively with Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift and Reach certification
- High energy level and willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Warehouse management system experience, including RF scanners and/or Voice (preferred)
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Able to excel in a team-oriented environment dedicated to safety, customer satisfaction, and achievement of quality and productivity goals
Qualifications
- Ability to follow directions
- Strong teamwork and attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Accurately count and perform basic math functions
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Continuous sitting, typing, and performing repetitive wrist motions
- Sometimes standing, walking, bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting/turning, or reaching
- Focus to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
- Moderate overtime and occasional weekend work
- Lift up to 35 pounds throughout the shift
- Spend 95% of time on the warehouse floor in a fast-paced environment
