Forklift Operator

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a 1st‑Shift Forklift Operator for the Salina 7 Fabrication department. The role supports the service department by moving parts and material, assists with fabrication line processes, and helps with receiving, loading, and shipping as needed.

Responsibilities

• Move parts and material with accurate paperwork.
• Support the service department by ensuring proper parts and material are available at the right place and time.
• Assist with fabrication line processes as needed.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Assist with outside receiving, loading, and shipping as needed.
• Inspect and perform routine maintenance on the forklift.
• Work with the cycle‑count program.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned, which may require additional qualifications, physical demands, or work‑environment considerations.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use AS400 to locate parts, view routing, product structure, and parts availability.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliable attendance.
• Forklift certification preferred (training will be provided if needed).
• Strong team player who understands and embraces a team concept.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (1st shift).
