Responsibilities
- Moves Merchandise by hand or forklift equipment to maintain continuous flow of merchandise.
- Open and closes bay doors and pulls pins for the dock plate.
- Unloads and stocks incoming merchandise, picks of outgoing merchandise, and loads outbound trailers when needed.
- Checks, verifies, and audits merchandise and enters data into remote data terminals to ensure that ordered merchandise has been received and that merchandise is as ordered and not damaged or defective.
- Operates a forklift, when needed, to move and put away merchandise, and replenishes pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various requests for needed merchandise.
- Obtains customer orders identifying merchandise that has been requested and fills merchandise order by selecting and moving merchandise from active slot to flat.
- Reports damages and vendor compliance issues. Resolves problems or discrepancies with help from the immediate manager.
- Maintains department demands without sacrificing quality.
- Uses forklift to obtain product, stages product and moves door using small hand tools including powered tools to meet the specific customer request.
- Cleans area by picking up packaging and cardboard material. Operates cardboard baler.
- Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Absorbs ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
- Assists with department duties as necessary.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
