About the role
Operates seated and standing forklift to transfer product from warehouse floor to load trucks. Responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse facility. Provides a high level of member service.
Responsibilities
- Moves merchandise by hand or forklift equipment to maintain continuous flow of merchandise.
- Opens and closes bay doors and pulls pins for the dock plate.
- Unloads and stocks incoming merchandise, picks outgoing merchandise, and loads outbound trailers when needed.
- Checks, verifies, and audits merchandise and enters data into remote data terminals to ensure ordered merchandise has been received and is as ordered and not damaged or defective.
- Operates a forklift to move and put away merchandise, and replenishes pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various requests for needed merchandise.
- Obtains customer orders identifying merchandise that has been requested and fills merchandise order by selecting and moving merchandise from active slot to flat.
- Reports damages and vendor compliance issues; resolves problems or discrepancies with help from the immediate manager.
- Meets department demands without sacrificing quality.
- Uses forklift to obtain product, stages product and moves door using small hand tools including powered tools to meet specific customer requests.
- Cleans area by picking up packaging and cardboard material; operates cardboard baler.
- Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assists with department duties as necessary and in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Open availability to meet the needs of the business.
- If hired, must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.
