Forklift Operator

About the role

Buckland, a global trade specialist with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join its team. The role supports the company’s mission of providing customized customs brokerage, trade managed solutions, freight forwarding, trade technologies, and warehousing/distribution services.

Responsibilities

• Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency
• Schedule vehicles for maintenance and repairs
• Manage inventory using RF scanning equipment
• Ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods by following safety regulations
• Load, unload, pack, and unpack materials
• Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments; track inventory
• Relocate items within the warehouse or factory
• Operate forklifts, winches, or other machinery for transporting/shipping materials
• Inspect equipment for damage, determine repair needs, and report product damage/shortages to the Team Lead
• Apply good written and verbal communication skills
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and sound decision‑making
• Work driven by results in a fast‑paced environment
• Maintain a well‑organized calendar to balance meetings, tasks, and future initiatives
• Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a forklift driver
• Valid forklift certificate (preferable)
• Excellent hand‑eye coordination
• Proficiency in operating RF scanners
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for forklift operation (US only)
• Attention to detail
• Legally eligible to work for the company at all times
• Valid passport and willingness to travel occasionally to offices in Canada, USA, or Mexico
