Forklift Operator 3rd shift
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the forklift to efficiently move pallets, containers, and materials throughout the plant facility.
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets and transports load to designated area.
- Conduct inspection of the forklift prior to operating, promptly reporting issues to maintenance team for resolution.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securement of items.
- Lift and carry up to 65lbs, push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet, pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
- Maintain awareness of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the work area.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
Job Details
- Role Scope and Complexity: The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring a continuous flow of materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for supplying broken pallet stock to automated repair systems, removing finished product from production lines, and transporting materials safely and efficiently to designated staging areas. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and productivity.
- Shift: 3rd Shift, 11:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Pay: $19.90+$2.00 shift Differential $21.90
- Travel: No travel required
- Language: English preferred; additional languages are welcomed but not required
Key Responsibilities and Focus (First 12 Months)
- Safely loading automated roller systems with broken pallet stock for repair.
- Removing finished product from automated production rollers and transporting it to designated storage or staging locations.
- Maintaining consistent material flow to minimize production downtime.
- Conducting pre-shift equipment inspections and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Following all facility safety procedures and forklift operating standards.
- Developing a thorough understanding of production workflows and material handling processes.
- Contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Equipment and Technical Requirements
- Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to operate both electric and propane-powered forklifts.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety practices and material handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively with production team members.
- Forklift certification preferred or willingness to become certified.
