Forklift Operator 1st Shift

About the role

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Tarboro, North Carolina. The position offers weekly pay, competitive hourly rate, overtime eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package. Work is performed in clean, organized warehouse facilities handling electronic repair parts using sit‑down forklifts, reach trucks, and RF scanners. Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Carry out duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, tote induction, stage products, and load/unload trucks
• Handle day‑to‑day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to be a team player in a diverse work environment
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and showing initiative
• Demonstrates high accuracy under pressure
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to work using health and safety methods
• Availability to work flexible schedules across various shifts
• Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
• May require additional screening (employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, badging, or background checks as required by the customer)

Pay

• Hourly rate: $20.50
• Overtime rate: $30.75 per hour
• Paid weekly
