Forklift Operator- 1st Shift
About the Role
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, moving them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.
Responsibilities
- Obtain copies of production schedules or shipping orders and transport material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
- Provide raw or WHIP stock to production machines per the production schedule.
- Load and unload goods from vehicles.
- Move goods packed on pallets or slip sheets around the storage facility.
- Stack goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
- Check loads to ensure they are secure.
- Stack empty pallets.
- Perform daily equipment checks on forklifts, per OSHA guidelines.
- Remove machine attachments and waste material from machines.
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Dump materials into machine hoppers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- May be required to use an RF scanner gun.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Good math, language, and reading skills.
- Basic computer skills may be required.
- High degree of attention to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
- Ability to follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
