Forklift Mechanic / GSE Mechanic

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is seeking a skilled Forklift/GSE Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Everett, WA. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and timely repairs on material handling equipment, including forklifts, stand-up lifts, walk-behind lifts, pallet jacks, and similar units
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems on MHE
• Conduct diesel engine diagnostics, brake repairs, tire service, A/C repairs, and scheduled PM services on material handling equipment
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to minimize equipment downtime

Requirements

• 4+ years’ of hands-on experience in material handling equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on diesel engines, brakes, tires, A/C systems, and MHE
• Solid working knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar units)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform essential functions that include lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete repairs
