Forklift Driver I

Salary status: DOE (dependent on experience). Non-exempt position.

Job Overview

In the Forklift Driver role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle to perform many tasks from storing, shipping, and receiving. This role supports the Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, and Production team.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
• Responsible for notifying the appropriate departments of any issues related to Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance, Quality, etc.
• Perform housekeeping duties at work center or as directed by the Lead and/or Manager, e.g., sweep work areas.
• Load and unload trailers and containers.
• Move, stack, and stage product, e.g., boxes, preforms resin, trays.
• Pick and pull orders, do receivings and putaways.
• Consolidate partial pallets, raw materials, or finished goods in the facility.
• Verify Pack IDs.
• Count products and materials.
• Lock and unlock doors, open and close the yard gate.
• Check status of machines.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Be able to perform all tasks and responsibilities of a Material Handler II.
• Must be able to properly utilize the Ginder.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify, address problems, and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, and write in English.
• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be committed to the success of the entire organization.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Must wear Safety Footwear classified as ANZI Z41.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl.
• May require repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
• Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on outside conditions. This is a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be certified to operate a sit-down, counterbalance, reach truck, and/or order picker.
• 1 year experience in performing work in a warehouse that requires the use of various warehouse practices.
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
• Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred.
• Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
• Experience in the plastic bottle industry or in a manufacturing environment is desired but not required.
