Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities
- Rotates product to ensure a first in – first out system
- Performs cycle counts and physical inventory as required
- Follows all verification practices and procedures to ensure accuracy of daily production
- Utilizes RF units to perform inventory control tasks
- Transfers bulk totes from plastic to wood using a transfer machine
- Transfers all finished goods to coolers and dry warehouse storage locations
- Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills
- Understands and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and good housekeeping practices
- Works safely and efficiently, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and following all job safety analysis (JSAs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs)
- Promptly reports any unsafe working conditions or injuries
- Promptly reports all potential quality and food safety hazards to management
- Complies with all of Saputo’s food safety, quality programs, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all business activities with employees, visitors and vendors
- Reliable and consistent attendance is an essential function of this job; must be available to work any shift, overtime or holidays as required; may be required to cover the absence of other personnel
Requirements
- Two years’ prior warehousing experience in a food-processing environment preferred
- Current or previous forklift certification preferred
- Maestro RF experience preferred
- Demonstrated work history
- Consistent attendance is a must
Qualifications
This position frequently requires mental/analytical demands. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret operating manuals is necessary. The ability to work effectively under pressure is critical to this position. Shift flexibility is required. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our receiving operators are assigned to a team in support of dairy operations. This can either be days, swing or night shift and may also include working weekends and some holidays. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
