About the role
Operates a stand-up electric forklift to move pallets of merchandise and equipment throughout the warehouse. Hand stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets. Provides a high level of member service.
Responsibilities
- Moves pallets of merchandise from steel shelving and the bulk wall to the sales area using a stand-up electric forklift based on written lists, verbal instructions, and observation of low stock.
- Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
- Pulls pallets with a manual pallet jack, stocks merchandise, and rotates stock as necessary (varies with staffing and area worked).
- Removes empty pallets from the sales floor using a stand-up electric forklift and stacks them outside near the receiving area in the designated location.
- Communicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine product placement; prints daily hot sheet.
- Combines freight for efficient storage by stacking partial pallets together with a forklift (transferring manually if needed) and wraps combined pallets in plastic film with a product tag prior to placement on steel shelves.
- Completes daily forklift safety checklist; uses a spotter or acts as a spotter to keep people out of the fall-danger zone.
- Waters batteries, plugs batteries into chargers, and changes out forklift batteries.
- Transfers pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to steel shelves and the bulk wall for storage or directly to the sales floor.
- Assists with stocking, clears sales floor debris, and ensures correct product signage; creates computer-generated signs and labels unmarked product with item numbers.
- Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
- Assists with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to operate a stand-up electric forklift and manual pallet jack.
- Open availability to meet business needs (except for religious or disability considerations).
- Authorization to work in the United States (proof required if hired).
