Forklift Driver (1st Shift)

About the role

The Forklift Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient material handling operations within TekniPlex. This position involves loading and unloading trucks, maintaining production supply, and performing various material handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading trucks at the dock in shipping
• Keeping production supplied with raw materials, packing supplies, and in-process rolls
• Removing scrap and empty dumpsters as needed
• Running a sweeper scrubber through aisles
• Putting up raw materials
• Putting away finished goods skids
• Using RF scanners for logistics of material flow throughout the building
• Ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are met
• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors
• Performing related duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

• Successful completion of IVO (Industrial Vehicle Operator) certification training
• Successful completion of JSA (Job Safety & Health Analysis) reading
• Successful completion of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training
• Active IVO training/Forklift certification
• Knowledge of how to band scrap

• Regularly stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, push, pull, and carry
• Frequently talks and reaches with hands and arms
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Exposure to heights, fumes or airborne particles, toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals, skin irritants, outside weather conditions, high heat, and risk of static shock
• Regularly works with others, but may occasionally work alone
