Division Overview

- Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans.
- At the Olympia Plant, we currently manufacture 12 oz. beverage cans.
Position Overview
- This is a dual position: The Forklift Operator ensures the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- The Palletizer Operator works independently inspecting product and line.
Duties and Responsibilities
Forklift Operator
- Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.
- Operates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
- Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
- Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordingly.
- Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality.
- Maintains schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to Supervisor.
- Follows all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise.
- Aids Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Palletizer Operator
- The Palletizer Operator is an entry-level position will be responsible for operating automatic can palletizing equipment to pattern and/or transfer cans to and from pallets.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years old.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Equivalent with 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience required.
- Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
- Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.
- Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
- Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate.
Preferred Requirements
- OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified.
- Beverage Packaging industry experience.
- Knowledge of AS400.
