Fork Lift Driver

Department: Dry Storage • Reports to: Service Manager or General Manager

About the role

The Forklift Driver is responsible for carrying out operations for the marina. The primary focus is the customer and their vessels. Tasks range from carefully handling customers’ boats to communicating effectively with dock staff. The role projects a professional company image in all interactions and requires the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned locations
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and perform regular maintenance to ensure safety
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to supervisor

Requirements

• Prior forklift experience; marina experience preferable
• Highly effective communication and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
• Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in emergencies
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the property
