Forging Operator - 2nd Shift
About the role
The purpose of this position is to provide forged products produced on crew-serviced drop hammers and die forgers. These positions operate various work centers comprised of multiple pieces of equipment arranged in work cells. Many products are produced using combinations of forging machines and auxiliary equipment in these cells.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines and equipment within the assigned work center.
- Make equipment adjustments as needed to produce acceptable products.
- Set up and operate a variety of trim presses.
- Verify product quality using manufacturing prints, gauges, and work order instructions.
- Work effectively as part of a crew in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Follow all safety procedures and production standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely and regularly.
- Must be able to interpret documents such as manufacturing prints and work order packets.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to interpret drawings and work order packets to setup equipment and run acceptable products.
- Previous forging experience is preferred.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Shift Hours and Overtime
- 2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
- Friday Overtime: When needed, employees may be scheduled for an eight-hour shift beginning at 2:00 p.m.
- Overtime may be optional or mandatory depending on production needs.
- Overtime schedules are typically posted in advance at the beginning of each month.
