Forge Process Technician

Responsibilities

• Setup forge press to produce a variety of forgings.
• Visually and dimensionally inspect forgings for conformance to required customer specifications and requirements.
• Achieve forge uptime, quality, rework, and scrap targets set by the Forging Manager.

Requirements

• Receives instructions and work assignments from forge shop supervisor.
• Follows safety procedures.
• Follows work procedures and SOPs.
• Follows work instructions.
• Follows control plans.
• Reads and interprets forging blueprints and written customer specifications.
• Pre-production approval to be signed off by Forge Process Technician and Quality Inspector.
• Ensures equipment and work areas are clean and orderly at all times.
• Train, insure, and enforce that workforce is following procedures, work instructions, control plans, SPC, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Reviews forge tools to direct repairs to tool shop.
• Performs minor repairs to tools.
