Forestry Technician Internship

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collecting baseline forest habitat data
• Cruising and marking timber to enhance wildlife habitat
• Aiding with timber sale administration
• Invasive plant control
• Monitoring wildlife and habitat responses to forest management treatments

Qualifications

• Forestry students with an interest in habitat and enrolled in school (undergraduate, graduate program or recent graduates)
• Basic dendrology, forest mensuration and silvicultural knowledge or experience preferred
• Wildlife students with an interest and understanding of forest ecology and management encouraged to apply

Physical Demands

Driving, computer work, and outdoor physical work as needed at refuges.
