Forestry Technician II

Full-time position.

Pay

$32.00 - $48.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.

About the role

This is the full journey class within the Urban Forestry Worker series. Employees perform the full range of duties, including assessing tree risk and performing aerial work using rigging techniques to prune or remove trees. Employees receive only occasional instruction or assistance for new or unusual situations and are fully aware of operating procedures and policies.

Requirements

• Possession of an Illinois Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker Endorsement and without an Air Brake Restriction within six months (condition of continued employment).
• Possession of a Certified Arborist designation from the International Society of Arboriculture (condition of continued employment).

Working conditions

• Travel from site to site.
• Exposure to dust and noise.
• Heavy lifting, standing, and climbing.
• Work in inclement weather conditions.
• Subject to 24-hour call-out in emergency situations.
