Forester - Procurement

Responsibilities

• Cruising timber to evaluate quality and volumes
• Negotiating timber contracts
• Developing forest management plans
• Marking timber and establishing harvest boundaries
• Administering timber sales
• Merchandising the products on those sales
• Maintaining compliance with PCA wood certification programs
• Familiarity with and adherence to SFI guidelines for Michigan

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management required
• 2 years’ experience in forestry
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
• Pulp and Paper Industry experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge of the technical and professional aspects of forestry
• Demonstrate working knowledge of land resource management
• Regulate and communicate with wood suppliers, private landowners and state and federal agencies
• Work a flexible schedule

Benefits

• Starting salary range for position: $78,000 - $117,000
• Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year
• Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year
