What We Need

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Fire/Land Management Forester within the Division of Forestry, headquartered in Ashland County. The address is 945 ODNR Mohican Road 60, Perrysville, Ohio 44864. What You Will Do…

  • Serves as land management forester & develops & maintains multiple use resource management plans;
  • Assists with the implementation of the Division’s prescribed fire management program;
  • Collections & analyzes data related to statewide Federal Excess Personal Property Program;
  • Prepares timber sales & performs public relations duties;
  • Assists in the division's mission to promote & apply management for the sustainable use & protection of Ohio’s private & public forest lands.

Pay & Benefits

Starting hourly pay of $26.54/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 5.5 years of service, with an end salary of $34.53/hr. There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule & longevity rates.

Qualifications

  • Completion of undergraduate core coursework in forestry or related field of study;
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in public relations;
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in operation of computer software programs;
  • valid driver's license.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Forestry Technician, 22321.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
