About the role

EY's Forensics Insurance and Federal Claims Services practice specializes in helping clients achieve their financial recovery goals following disaster events such as hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, and pandemics. This team offers grants management, compliance, and insurance claims services to some of the most complex and prestigious public and private sector entities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engagement teams to provide government and public sector clients with a variety of services associated with the management and compliance of disaster recovery funding made available through complex grant and stimulus programs (FEMA, HUD CDBG-DR, ARPA).
  • Manage large projects for states and local governments, develop client relationships, lead interactions with local governments to support project development, verify numerous aspects of compliance including transaction testing and programmatic requirements, and manage teams who undertake monitoring of federally funded projects.
  • Resolve clients' needs from the front lines using your technical, managerial, and leadership skills.
  • Work with EY professionals across different solutions on business development initiatives.
  • Travel and presence at client sites, along with in-office presence will be required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, emergency management or related field.
  • 5+ years related compliance, audit, financial management, disaster recovery and/or emergency management experience, ideally with a government agency or professional services firm.
  • Achieved a professional designation, such as CPA, CFE, or CEM.
  • Relevant disaster management experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the confidence to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $104,800 to $192,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $125,700 to $218,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Our flexible vacation policy allows you to decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
