Forensic Nurse Examiner

About the Role

The Advanced Forensic Nurse Examiner provides compassionate, specialized care related to trauma, violence, and criminal incidents. They deliver direct patient services, collaborate with families, and consult with medical, law enforcement, and community agencies. The role involves establishing clinical standards, offering expert testimony, and supporting program operations throughout the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate forensic assessments and ensure high-quality care.
• Provide consultation and collaborate with staff and program coordinators.
• Support after-hours testing services and maintain clinical standards.
• Offer expert testimony in legal proceedings.

Requirements

• Completion of FNE/SANE education meeting North Carolina standards.
• Current RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; SANE certification required.
• Minimum two years of relevant RN/FNE clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Experience in advanced assessment, counseling, leadership, or education.
• National certification in a relevant specialty.
