About the role

The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) provides comprehensive, compassionate care to victims of sexual assault (female, male, child). FNEs function autonomously; the successful investigation and prosecution of a case may depend on their work. The FNE may also be requested by law enforcement to conduct forensic evidentiary examinations of suspects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver autonomous, victim-centered forensic nursing care.
• Perform forensic evidentiary examinations for victims and, when requested, suspects.
• Respond to on-call requests within 60 minutes.
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); other nursing degrees considered on an individual basis.
• Current, valid Wisconsin RN license.
• Completion of an IAFN-approved adult/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) course.
• Prior SANE/FNE experience.

Pay

$40.66 per hour, based on experience.
