About the role

The PathGroup’s forensic pathology division is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Forensic Pathologist to support their forensic services in Tyler, Texas. This is a unique opportunity for a forensic pathologist seeking a low-volume, highly autonomous practice with a strong focus on medico-legal work and case ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic autopsies and postmortem examinations
  • Determine cause and manner of death
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and provide courtroom testimony when required
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, legal professionals, and investigative teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely case documentation
  • Participate in team-based scheduling and coverage

Requirements

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Forensic Pathologist
  • Experience in medico-legal work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Medical license in good standing
  • Completion of anatomic and forensic pathology residency program
  • Passing scores on relevant board exams

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and legal language
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
