What you’ll do
- Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Safely operate specialized equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators.
- Ensure work areas are safe and maintain smooth traffic flow while on the job site.
- Safely work at heights utilizing climbing hooks and ladders.
- Safely utilize hand tools and power tools (wrenches, drills, saws, etc.).
- Lead by example: Provide direct guidance, mentorship, and support to crew members.
- Be ready to travel for emergency storm response on short notice.
- Complete daily work orders and crew checks to accurately document productivity and safety compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
- A High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
- A valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
- Ready for Leadership: At least 3 years of related field experience, demonstrating the technical mastery required to step up and lead a crew.
- To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified.
- CDL Class “A” driver license is highly preferred.
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: Work with arms above shoulder level, at heights, in confined spaces, and alone in remote locations; operate vehicles and heavy machinery; use ladders; bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift objects greater than 55 pounds.
- Occasionally: Use a keyboard and mouse.
