Responsibilities

• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Assist with the construction, reinforcement, and dismantling of pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Assist with the building and construction of wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks, steps, bulletin boards, and additional wooden structures.
• Clean up work areas.
• Assist other crafts while not actively working on scaffolding.

Requirements

• Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.
• Willingness to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
• Must have required tools.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.

Qualifications

• NCCER - Industrial Scaffold Builder certification (required).
• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee (preferred).
• NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter (preferred).
• Formal/technical education (preferred).
• Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
• Communicate by talking and hearing.
• Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
• Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off platforms and man lifts, and occasionally work on open structures using appropriate fall protection.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, FRC, gloves, and leather work boots.
