About the role
ColonialWebb is seeking experienced Commercial Plumber and Pipefitter Foremen to lead and support commercial plumbing and piping projects. Typical projects include hospitals, data centers, high-rises, universities, secondary schools, and government facilities.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day work activities of plumbing/pipefitter mechanics and helpers
- Ensure projects are completed safely and in accordance with budget and quality standards
- Work side by side with mechanics and helpers, providing guidance and demonstrating best practices
- Supervise and coordinate work activities for mechanics and helpers
- Demonstrate a passion for safety, helping your team understand that safety is the top priority through teaching and coaching
- Inspect work in process and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision
- Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge and capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
- Install equipment, plumbing, and piping made of various materials
- Communicate and deal effectively with teammates in other trades
- Use Microsoft Office and internet effectively
Requirements
- Current or previous leadership experience as a Foreman working on commercial projects
- In-depth experience and knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
- Master’s or Journeyman Plumbing License (preferred, not required)
- Possess knowledge of applicable codes (e.g., International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code) and general HVAC systems
- Ability to install work from drawings, submittals, and specifications
- Ability to direct crews to install work safely with quality and efficiency
- Read and understand project-related documents in the English language
- Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
- OSHA 10-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Foresight and problem-solving skills, ability to make decisions with information on hand
