Responsibilities

  • Leading, training, and mentoring the project crew
  • Prioritizing and delegating responsibilities
  • Communicating with the tradespeople on the job site
  • Tracking project schedules to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Serving as Technical Lead and Crew Chief on assigned projects
  • Serving as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects
  • Reporting on job status and performance
  • Controlling job costs
  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships with peers, customers, General Contractors (GCs), and subcontractors
  • Ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe behavior, including vehicle safety, by all employees
  • Ensuring compliance with Installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance, etc.
  • Might oversee third-party resources
  • Directing and overseeing the work of other Apprentices and journeymen assigned to specific projects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school
  • College degree, a plus
  • All required safety certifications
  • 6+ years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC, building construction, or other related industry/trade
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours
  • Ability to organize tasks
  • Ability to use good judgment in making work assignments
  • Ability to give clear instructions and guidance, as needed
  • Ability to maintain project labor hours within acceptable limits and request change orders as needed
  • Ability to ensure safe work practices and ensure compliance with Safety policies
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Track record of punctuality and dependability
  • Good driving record
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to manage time, delegate assignments, and follow through to ensure good results
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws
  • Ability to use computer tools including E-Mail, Word, Project Planning Software (Projectmates), etc.
