Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily concrete and flatwork construction activities.
- Direct laborers, carpenters, finishers, operators, and subcontractors to achieve project production goals.
- Interpret project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and layout information.
- Coordinate construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, driveways, barrier foundations, retaining walls, concrete pavement repairs, ADA ramps, concrete pads, and miscellaneous concrete structures.
- Verify proper layout, grades, elevations, dimensions, and cross slopes prior to concrete placement.
- Supervise formwork installation, reinforcing steel placement, dowel installation, and embed placement.
- Coordinate concrete deliveries and monitor placement operations to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Affirm proper finishing techniques, joint installation, curing methods, and surface tolerances.
- Monitor concrete quality, slump, air content, temperature, and placement procedures.
- Coordinate with project management, inspectors, survey personnel, testing agencies, and subcontractors.
- Schedule labor, equipment, materials, and concrete deliveries to maintain project schedules.
- Carry out daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and resolve field issues affecting safety, quality, productivity, or schedule.
- Maintain daily reports documenting manpower, equipment, production quantities, and project progress.
- Perform quality control inspections and ensure completed work meets project requirements.
- Assist with punch list completion and project closeout activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of concrete or heavy civil construction experience as a foreman.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, finishing techniques, and quality requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of ADA compliance requirements, grades, and cross-slope requirements preferred.
- Experience coordinating concrete placements and managing multiple crews.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with owners, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Valid driver's license required.
