Foreman (CDL Class A or B Preferred)

About the role

The Davey Tree Surgery Company is seeking a Foreman | Foreperson to lead a crew in Utility Line Clearance. This role involves directing crew members and equipment to plan and execute arboricultural care, including tree climbing, pruning, hazardous tree removal, and installation of support systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients, following the Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
• Perform tree climbing using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Operate as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climbers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license preferred but not required.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position with up to 25% travel expectations. Locations are throughout the Cleveland, OH area.
