About the role

We are seeking a Foreign Patent Prosecution Paralegal with 10+ years of experience managing global IP patent portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full lifecycle of foreign patent procurement, including PCT, Paris Convention, national phase entries, and EP validations, from filing through grant
  • Prepare and file PCT Request forms, assignments, formal drawings, and related documentation
  • Coordinate with foreign associates worldwide on costs, prosecution strategy, and jurisdiction-specific requirements
  • Track and process annuities and maintenance fees, including payments and confirmations
  • Review foreign Office Actions and prepare detailed reporting packages for attorneys and clients
  • Conduct data audits, correct bibliographic errors, update status flows, and maintain accuracy across multiple docketing systems
  • Create templates, checklists, and workflow tools to improve efficiency and reduce errors
  • Communicate with inventors regarding signatures, declarations, formalities, and application status
  • Maintain 1,500 billable hours annually

Requirements

  • Proficient in PCT strategy, Paris Convention filings, national phase entries, EP validations
  • Proficient with multi-jurisdictional docketing and double docketing procedures
  • Ability to collaborate with attorneys, clients, inventors, and foreign associates worldwide in patent procurement
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to deadlines
  • Prompt and clear communications
  • Experience with foreign patent prosecution (PCT, Paris Convention, National Phase, EP Validation), including docketing, deadline management, and maintaining true double docket
  • Experience with cross-border communication and foreign associate coordination
  • Proficient in legal writing and reporting
  • Data accuracy audits and bibliographic corrections
  • Research and monitoring experience (Legal, Procedural, Technical, Ownership)
  • Annuity/maintenance fee tracking experience
  • Expertise in client, inventor, and vendor communication
  • Experience tracking fees/costs and payments

Pay

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
