Footwear Materials Manager

About the role
Reports to: Vice President, Product Development & Engineering, Footwear
Location: Portland, Oregon
Responsibilities
- Lead the Materials Development team and manage relationships with Tier 2 partners
- Work closely with Materials Designers, Footwear Developers, and Engineers to create innovative products
- Directly manage Footwear Product Developers and have dotted line responsibility for materials analysts in Asia
- Be a member of the Footwear Product Creation leadership team and work with fellow leaders to execute seasonal product creation processes and innovate
- Focus on upper materials but heavily influence strategy related to foams and rubbers
Requirements
- Proven track record in materials management and development
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of footwear manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management and development
- Experience in footwear manufacturing and supply chain management

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is USD$107,000 - USD$134,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Schedule
This role is based out of the Portland office and is expected to be performed on-location.
