About the Role
Banquet bartenders interact with guests to ensure a great experience during dining and meetings at the hotel. They serve guests in a friendly and efficient manner, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed. The role involves setting up and executing banquet events, including tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and audio-visual equipment, while maintaining professionalism and a clean, safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.
- Prepare rooms for use by adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature before guests arrive.
- Communicate with lead event staff regarding any special needs and assist in ensuring events are on time.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet space.
- Communicate guest needs, problems, or concerns to the Events Manager.
- Reset meeting rooms for the next event if it occurs within one day of the previous event.
- Keep inventory of all banquet equipment organized and stored in appropriate areas.
- Provide guests with a lasting experience to encourage return business.
- Maintain proper dining service, including delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
- Deliver alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests' tables.
- Properly open and pour wine at tableside.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a supervisor.
- Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
